P7 Room 13 Flight Trip

On the 12th April P7 Room13 went to Belfast City Airport in partnership with Bombardier.

To start with we got our tickets from our teacher (Mrs Maguire) and then went through security.

Next we went up the stairway to the departure lounge where we had to wait for quite some time. We were supposed to be on our plane for five past ten but ended up getting in the plane at around twenty-five past ten, during the time we spent at the departure lounge a few airport police officers came to have a chat with me and my class.

Once we got on the plane which was a Flybe Q400, we got our seatbelts on, got a speech from the pilot and got a demonstration of how to use our life jackets in case anything happened which thankfully nothing did, then we flew off! During our flight we got offered a drink of either pure orange juice or water. It was a 45 minute flight around Belfast, which was really, really fun.

After we got off the plane we went to the airports fire station where we had our lunch made for us. While we were eating our lunch we got given a goody bag which included a drink, a packet of crisps, some chocolate, a notepad, a ruler and a pen and pencil. Once everyone had finished their lunch we got taken to a different part of the airport’s fire station we got told some facts about their fire engines and then got shown a demonstration of how they were used.

Finally we just waited for our bus to arrive then said our thank-you's then went. Personally I thought it was brilliant! It was so fun and I would definitely do it again! I just want to say thank-you to Bombardier for this amazing trip and to George Best Belfast City Airport for paying for everything and giving us lunch. Also thanks to Mrs Maguire, Mrs Archer and our parent helper Carol, thank-you for taking us. It was a fantastic day overall, I loved it!
